Harnessing the Power of Reflection for Learning in the Workplace

Decades of research show that taking time to reflect is a critical aspect of learning, and that one’s ability to use reflection effectively improves with practice. However, it can be hard to find time to design and implement meaningful reflection activities in the workplace. This session will begin with an asynchronous video presentation about a recent NLL study that invited interns in Accenture’s Skills to Succeed Program to engage in periodic reflection exercises over the course of their internship. Participants will also have a chance to review the reflection surveys used in the studies. We will then come together for a synchronous discussion about the early findings, what they mean for engaging learners in the workplace, and how this research might inform your own practice.
