
Solei Sarmiento is a Graduate Research Assistant at the Next Level Lab and a Master of Divinity student at Harvard Divinity School, where she explores integrative spiritual care and counseling through the lens of Mesoamerican Traditional Knowledge, examining how these practices can foster individual growth and organizational and systems-level change. She holds a bachelors in Cognitive Science from UC Berkeley, where she conducted research in the contemplative sciences on daily awe, contemplative ecological pedagogies, and prosocial behavior. As Director and Co-Founder of the non-profit Sunflower Sutras, Solei co-creates digital and in-person spaces that bring together Indigenous Elders, scholars, and artists, weaving storytelling, traditional knowledge, and research to cultivate poesis and praxis in learning, leadership, and systemic transformation. She is passionate about weaving research, ancestral knowledge, spiritual care, and community practice to advance approaches that connect individual growth with collective transformation.
