Dylan’s passion for workforce development began in high school at a career and technical education program in Portland, Oregon, where he studied architecture and construction. As part of the program, he helped build a home in the school community for a low-income family, with the sale proceeds funding the next housing project. He later brought this practical, project-based mindset to teaching middle school mathematics in Brooklyn, NY. After five years in the classroom, Dylan joined the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education in Washington, DC, where he supported the expansion of the city’s Advanced Technical Center through a Bloomberg Philanthropies grant, extending access to students in Wards 7 and 8. Most recently, he led the Innovation Studio in his hometown school district, working with community stakeholders to identify and dismantle long-standing barriers in education faced by Black and Native students. Dylan is currently pursuing a Master’s in Education Policy & Analysis at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
